Army Study Program Management Office - ASPMO cover
Missão The Army Study Program Management Office (ASPMO) provides value to the Army by developing an integrated program of studies and analyses focused on high-priority Army issues. The overall objective of the Army Study Program (ASP) is to inform Senior Army Leadership with timely, high quality insight on the critical issues impacting the Army. The Program eliminates unnecessary redundancy in analysis efforts and expands upon lessons learned and best business practices to achieve cost-effective stewardship. Studies and analysis provide a logical basis for decisions to improve military operations. The ASP leverages information technology to support information exchange. The ASP database, accessible to all AKO account holders, enables users to access information on thousands of completed, ongoing and planned studies.
Descrição The Army Study Program (ASP) is a service-wide initiative designed to provide Army decision makers with analysis that is relevant, robust, and responsive to the demands confronting the Army in the entire spectrum of its endeavors. The Army Study Program Management Office (ASPMO) has the overall Department of Army (DA) responsibility for the Program. Each Army Staff agency and Major Command is represented by a Study Coordinator. This designated Study Coordinator serves as the point of contact to the ASPMO and implements Study Program policy at the agency level.

The Army Study Program was established after the 1979 Review of Army Analysis (RAA). ASPMO was chartered with developing policy for the Study Program, executing routine Program functions and serving as the executive agent of the Study Program Coordinating Committee (SPCC). Co-chaired by the DCS G-8 and DCS G-3, the SPCC is comprised of senior-level representatives of the Army Staff agencies and Army Commands who use and conduct Army analysis.

ASPMO also serves as the Headquarters DA study coordination office and is responsible for allocation of centrally managed HQDA Study resources.

The ASP encompasses studies from numerous internal and contract organizations, as well as Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC). The principal Army analysis resources include CAA, TRAC and AMSAA. RAND Arroyo and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) are the Army’s primary analysis FFRDCs.

The Center for Army Analysis (CAA) supports HQDA and Army Commands providing strategic concept and military option analysis. CAA develops information that helps Army leaders address the issues of greatest importance to the Army by conducting studies employing analysis techniques appropriate to the issues at hand. CAA maintains special expertise in the analysis of issues pertaining to theater-level operations and Army-wide processes, especially those that involve resource allocation.
