As you walk around the SDSU campus, you may happen to come across flyers announcing a certain club by the name of “Art Without Borders.” Most are probably intimidated to even attend a meeting due to the mere mention of the word “art.” As most people may know, the arts don’t consist of just drawing or painting, it can also be dancing, acting and even music. But just because Art Without Borders pertains to the arts doesn’t mean you necessarily HAVE to be good at something. Maybe you enjoy looking at pieces of art or for the other matter of just simply getting involved in a club; you are all welcome to join.
So what exactly does Art Without Borders do and who are they? Well it’s simple. They aren’t a group of artists who sit around drinking tea and examining each other’s works. They aren’t the next Pablo Picassos or Van Goghs for that matter. They are a club made up of ordinary students from the SDSU-IV campus who share a love for the arts and who have one main goal of promoting art, not only at the school campus but also all around the community. They try to get students involved in art activities such as art exhibits and live performances from local musicians and dance groups as well. AWB wants to plan art themed field trips and plan more exciting events for the community. They have big aspirations and an ambition to bring a lot more ART to the SDSU doorstep but before they try to bite off more than they can swallow, they need MORE student involvement!!
I support Art Without Borders, so why don’t you?
