Between 1854 and 1929, more than 250,000 orphans and unwanted children were taken out of New York City and given away at train stations across America. This free, multimedia program combines live music and storytelling by humanities scholars Phillip Lancaster and Alison Moore with a video montage of archival photographs and interviews of survivors.

If you have a story about the Orphan Train that you’d like to share, please contact Tim Dollens at (573) 443-3161.

This event is sponsored in partnership with the Missouri Humanities Council, with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Boone County Historial Society.

FREE EVENT. REGISTRATION NOT REQUIRED.
