Explore the Wilder side of St Ives.... Join professional foraging guide Josh Quick. Learn how to safely & sustainably harvest your own food from the hundreds of edible wild plants that surround us. This course takes place at the Steeple nature reserve, a beautiful location overlooking St Ives bay. There are many fascinating plants to meet as we take a gentle stroll through hedgerows, heathland and woodland. Wild foods have become increasingly popular in recent years and are used by some of the top restaurants and drinks producers in the world. There are some incredible ingredients out there hiding in plain sight and with the right knowledge you can begin to use them yourself and produce your own Wild food & drinks at home. Foraging is about so much more than just food. Being able to harvest your own wild edible plants connects us to our local landscape, flora & the seasons in ways no other food can. Perfect for beginners or more experienced foragers, the content of the course will be tailored to people's experience and interests. We'll look at techniques to identify plants, legal issues, poisonous plants to avoid, sustainable harvesting techniques and uses of plants as food, drinks, fibres and much more.

There will also be some food and drink samples to try made from wild harvested ingredients. ------------------------------------------------------ Tickets are £25 for adults Under 16's are free but must be accompanied by an Adult, please let us know if any under 16s are attending when booking.
