As a company, we seek to elevate the process of creating an aesthetic connection between story and audience, striving to place designers and visual artists centrally in the development process from the outset, creating design driven work that holds true to the needs of the story being told. Virago is a 501 c 3 non-profit theater company.
Twice produced at the award-winning New York theater, The Flea, 2014 "AROUSAL & The Lover," & 2015 "The Singularity." Virago's 2012 production of "A Taste of Honey" was nominated for two Bay Area Critic's Circle Acting Awards: Daniel Redmond and David Bicha both received acting nominations. "AROUSAL" and "The Lover" received 4 Broadway World Nominations, Best Director Chloe Bronzan, Best Actress Laura Lundy-Paine, Best Actor John Steen, and Best Sound, Nikki Eggett.
