ATTENTION ALL BUDDING CHILD ARTISTS!
To mark the 151st anniversary of the birth in Lurgan of the artist and writer George William Russell (AE) an art competition has been organised for children aged from 4-13 years old.
The theme of the competition is MARY POPPINS, whose creation George Russell helped influence.
HOW TO ENTER
Create a drawing, painting or collage influenced by the adventures of the world's most famous nanny; whether it be Mary Poppins flying through the sky with her umbrella, Dick Van Dyke the chimney sweep, a spoonful of sugar or that most famous of words supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The choice is yours.
Entries should be left in Lurgan Library, no later than 4pm on Friday 13th April. Each entry must record the person's name, age and contact number in the bottom left hand corner of the artwork.
Entries will be displayed in Lurgan Library on Saturday 14th April and will be judged by a local artist with prizes awarded to the winning and running up entrants in two age categories, 4-8 years old and 9-13 years old. The results will be published in the Lurgan Mail and social media.
