Are you brand new to yoga? Has it been months, or years, since you've joined a class? Or perhaps you're looking for a slower-paced class that offers thorough alignment instruction and feedback? If so, please join us this Spring for a brand-new 4-Week Beginner Series!
This 4-week series is a true beginner's course, with each week building on the prior week's foundation and knowledge. Alison will introduce common poses and provide precise alignment instruction and guidance. Longer holds and repetition in many postures will help facilitate learning and comfort with the poses. Meditation and breath work will also be included. Props will be utilized and modifications and enhancements given to suit all levels of mobility.
All 4 classes can be purchased in advance for $90, or otherwise on a walk-in basis at $25 per class or class card. On Tuesdays: April 10th, April 17th, April 24th, and May 1st.
Alison came to yoga in 2012 to explore the idea of finding mindfulness and patience in the present through synchronized movement and breath work. After tentatively approaching a few yoga classes, she soon noticed more patience at work, as well as easeful breathing and stamina in exercise and daily living. Before long she cultivated a regular yoga practice, and found herself drawn to the idea of becoming a teacher, to help share the benefits and joy that yoga had brought to her life.
Alison’s practice has flourished at The Giving Room, where she enjoys practicing everything from gentle and restorative yoga techniques to vinyasa flow and inversions. Alison believes that yoga simultaneously empowers the body and calms the mind, and should be – and is – accessible to all.
