Martin Daws will perform poems from his book Geirau Gogs - a poetic love letter to North Wales. Using the poems from Geirau Gogs as stimulus, Martin will lead creative writing exercises to generate new writing based on location. Participants will have the opportunity to share their work informally, and also to experiment with performing it using a microphone.

Martin Daws is a Spoken Word Poet with 20 years professional experience. Started at Open Mics and Slams, graduated to Feature Slots and Touring Shows. Played numerous festivals Nationally and Internationally including Glastonbury, Womad, Shamballa, Festival no6, Edinburgh Fringe, Bet Lahem Live (Palestine), Penn Writers (NYC), Poetry Connection (Helsinki), Focus Wales. Featured poet in 9Bach's acclaimed "Llechi". Author of two Spoken Word Poetry book/albums Skintight the Sidewalk (2008) and Geiriau Gogs (2016). Geiriau Gogs currently touring as a one poet show. Awarded the role of Young People's Laureate for Wales 2013-16. Delivering nationwide poetry projects and events, advocating for the importance of young people's voices being heard.
