Kayak Starved Rock Campground is located right on the Illinois River directly across Starved Rock State Park. This location has beginner-friendly kayaking. We feature high-end kayak rentals, guided kayak tours, and primitive riverside camping. Kayaks available for kayak rentals or guided kayak tours include high-end single kayak Perception Carolina twelve-footers and fourteen-footers. Also available are high-end tandem Perception Cove 145T.These tandem kayaks have two seats, however, can hold up to three people if the third person is 70 pounds or less.The third passenger would be a non-paddling passenger and would sit on the floor of the kayak(on a pad). The max capacity including cargo and passengers of our tandem kayaks is 550 pounds. Our Campground features primitive riverside camping for tents, pop-up campers, and teardrop campers. Friendly leashed dogs are welcome in our campground and also in our kayak rentals. Biking trails are nearby and offer a scenic ride along the I & M canal towpath. Guided kayak tours are offered Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.We also can offer private guided kayak tours for private groups(corporate, scouts, church, youth, family reunions, etc.) Kayak Starved Rock Campground is just a short drive away from all of the world-famous hiking trails in the area. Showers and swimming are available just a few miles away at the Oglesby Community Swimming pool.
