Self Certification for all Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders are federally required to inform the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV)
A division of MassDOT of the type of commerce in which they operate (interstate or intrastate), and whether or not they are required to hold a medical certificate. Failure to provide this information, known as self-certifying, prior to April 30, 2014 will result in the loss of the holder’s CDL.
A Medical Certificate also known as a DOT Medical Card can be attained by undergoing a DOT Physical Exam provided by NEW England DOT Physicals.
