О Sundarban Wildlife Tour
The Sundarbans is one of the largest mangrove forests in the world. It is one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites and is situated on the delta formed by the confluence of rivers Ganga, Brahmaputra and Meghna. With an area of approximately 40,000 square km, this delta is amongst the largest in the world.

The Sundarbans boasts of a diverse fauna which comprises around 260 species of birds, and some endangered animals like the Indian Python and Estuarine Crocodile. It is also home to the Bengal Tiger. Sundarbans also has great biodiversity when it comes to flora; 334 plant species belonging to 245 genera and 75 families, 165 algae and 13 orchid species.

The Sundarbans consists of three wildlife sanctuaries which have been protected by a number of laws due to the cultural and ecological significance of the place. Climatic irregularity, poaching and illegal lumberjacking are few of the reasons which has the ecosystem of this area vulnerable. Various organizations of the world have come together for protection of the Sunderbans.
