Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice focused on postures that help release tension deep in the connective tissue and joints.
Most Yin Yoga postures are practiced sitting or laying on the floor and are held for 3 – 5 minutes at a time, inviting a sense of softness and surrender; this prolonged attention can often be a deeply transformative experience.
In Chinese Medicine each organ not only has a physical function and purpose but also an energetic and emotional constitution. Meridians (energetic pathways) are connected with each organ and hold an energetic charge that we are seeking to balance and restore through Yin Yoga.
This class is focused on chest and shoulder openers to help balance the flow of chi along the heart meridian pathway. Heart energy allows us to connect with an emotional warmth, innate joy and harmony.
