The environment comprises everything around us including nature, people, and the manufactured components of our world. More and more pesticide labels list adverse environmental effects such as contamination of our groundwater and toxicity to birds, aquatic organisms, and bees. Learn the many ways that pesticides can move away from targeted sites and how proper application methods can reduce the risk of environmental contamination.

Reviews appropriate cultural and fertilization practices to promote health and vigor of landscape shrubs; identification and management of common insects and diseases affecting shrubs including use of IPM strategies and low-toxicity pesticides.
• 11:35 a.m.-12:25 p.m.-Landscape Maintenace BMPs:Trees
Reviews recommended tree species, identification and management of common insect and disease problems affecting trees using IPM strategies and low-toxicity pesticides; cultural and fertilization recommendations to promote healthy landscape trees.
