Stokes Law Office, LLP is a law firm focused on representing corporate and professional clients in matters involving business and international law transactions and disputes. With offices in Miami and San Antonio, and with attorneys admitted in many US jurisdictions, we are especially equipped to serve clients in produce, agricultural trade, banking and collection of receivables for businesses that export to the United States. All of our lawyers and staff speak Spanish and two of our lawyers speak Brazilian Portuguese.
The firm’s mission is to provide legal services in the selected practice areas in order to promote our clients’ success and reduce their risks in international and interstate trade. When our international clients require assistance in collection matters, we are able to represent their interests in multi-state PACA litigation matters, as the attorneys in our firm are admitted to practice before the United States District Court and in the state courts for most US states.
Stokes Law Office, LLP is a US-based, multi-lingual law firm that represents US, Latin American and other international clients by providing sound, commercially-based legal advice concerning the sale of agricultural goods and produce. We also represent Latin American banks and foreign businesses that export goods and services to the United States.
We understand the goals of our clients – reducing risk while ensuring the smooth delivery of and collection for goods and produce in a timely and cost-effective manner.
We provide our clients with advice on PACA, US produce laws, and US laws, regulations, and contractual matters, and risk mitigation strategies concerning agricultural purchases and sales.
For our US-based clients we additionally advise on matters concerning international purchases and sales of goods and produce, and bank-related matters.
For our Latin American and non-US clients, we also advise on customary US contractual matters. When US-based companies fail to pay for purchases or become subject to bankruptcy, we represent our non-US based clients, including credit insurers to collect the funds rightfully owed to them. As our attorneys are admitted in many US Federal courts and state courts, we are usually able to represent clients in many applicable jurisdictions, thus saving our clients considerable expense from not having to engage multiple law firms.
For all clients our focus is on their business objectives, we begin our representation by asking the client what it wants to achieve. Our attorneys and staff are fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
